Scope and Contents

This series, arranged in one and one-half boxes, consists of administrative and financial records of three publications affiliated with the Northwestern University School of Law: the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology, the Journal of Air Law and Commerce, and the Journal of Radio Law. The combined records date between 1910 and 1970.

Administrative records of the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology include correspondence relating to the sale of advertising space, subscription claims and collections, and the early development and financial support of the publication. Also included are minutes of the Journal's editorial board and correspondence pertaining to printing and promotional activities, the sale of back issues, and the relations between the Journal and the International Association of Arson Investigators. The Journal served as the official publication of the Association between 1950 and 1959. Financial reports and statements of income and expenditures from 1910 through 1970 complete the records.

Records of the Journal of Air Law and Commerce include correspondence, memoranda, and related materials documenting the history of the publication and, in particular, its relationship (ending in 1960) with Northwestern University. Financial statements pertaining to the Journal date between 1946 and 1956.

A small amount of correspondence and other materials relate to the sale of back stock of the Journal of Radio Law. The Northwestern University School of Law published this periodical between April and October, 1932.
