Scope and Contents

This series consists of record cards documenting the World War I-era military service of Northwestern University alumni and some faculty. Faculty cards are restricted mainly to members of the Liberal Arts and Medical School faculties. The card for an individual typically records name, Northwestern class (if applicable), dates of birth and admission to and withdrawal from school, name of parent or guardian, permanent address, war service (postings, promotions, combat duty), and military addresses.

Information for alumni is noted on tan cards; that for faculty on pink cards.

Arrangement

The cards are arranged in folders alphabetically according to individuals' surnames, plus a folder for Medical School faculty.

Method of Acquisition

These records have been separated from the University Archives' general reference files (Accession #88-267).
