Scope and Contents
This series consists of individual copies of photographs that appeared in the 1984 Centennial issue of the Northwestern University annual, the Syllabus (Volume 100). The series includes the general subject photographs which appeared in volume 100, as well as the class of 1984 portraits. The special Centennial issue of the Syllabus included a pictorial history of the university, reproducing photographs from the University Archives. This series includes these reproductions as well.
The photographs are printed mainly on eight inch-by-ten inch photographic paper, but the dimensions of the actual images vary. The published forms of these images are often cropped to different dimensions than those of the original photographs. The class of 1984 portraits which appear on pages 510-571 of the Syllabus are printed on wallet-sized photographic paper, and are mounted on layout board according to page number.

Abstract
This series consists of individual copies of photographs that appeared in the 1984 Centennial issue of the Northwestern University annual, the Syllabus (Volume 100). The series contains both the general subject photographs which appeared in volume 100 and the class of 1984 portraits. The special Centennial issue of the Syllabus included a pictorial history of the university, reproducing photographs from the University Archives. This series includes these reproductions as well.
Arrangement
The photographs are arranged sequentially into folders according to the page number of the Syllabus on which they appeared. Color photographs are arranged sequentially in a separate folder. The senior class portraits are arranged by page number in a dropfront storage box. The 1984 Syllabus should be consulted as an aid for finding specific photographs as well as an index to the names of the Syllabus staff photographers.
Method of Acquisition
The University Archives received these photographs from Sandy Schultz of the Students Publishing Company on October 18, 1984 (Accession #84–213).
