Materials from the Department of Physical Therapy & Human Movement Sciences including administrative papers (organizational charts, documentation for accreditation, membership in the American Physical Therapy Association, the history of physical therapy as a profession, and development), portraits of students grouped by class (1928-2015), candid photos of students (roughly 1940s to 2000s), student handbooks (1989-95), yearbooks (1996-2003), issues of the Alumni Association Bulletin in binders (1934-85), and ephemera related to the department, as well as a 1914 school notebook of Gertrude Beard (1887-1971), the first director of the department from 1927 to 1952. Also includes professional papers of Donna C. Boone, PT (1932-2019), a physical therapist mainly based in Southern California who attended Northwestern's PT course in 1955 and worked in Chicago from 1955 to 1959.

Arrangement
The collection is arranged into 10 series: Student Portraits, Student Handbooks, Miscellaneous Photographs, Ephemera, Yearbooks, Alumni Association Bulletin, Gertrude Beard Notebook, Donna Boone Materials, Administrative Papers, and Living History Interviews.
Student Portraits and all published materials are generally arranged chronologically within each series. The Donna Boone Materials series is arranged by format.
