Abstract Collection contains the records of Northwestern University Dean of Students from 1967-1970, Roland ‘Jack’ Hinz. Hinz was Dean of Students during a takeover of the Bursar’s office by Black Northwestern students in May of 1968 to protest racial injustices on campus, which received national news coverage. The Bursar’s office sit-in was one of a series of student demonstrations throughout the United States at the end of the 1960’s protesting civil rights injustices and the war in Vietnam. ...
