Biography

The Northwestern University Alumni Association began publishing the Alumni News in November 1921. The publication was created with a two-fold purpose: "first, to represent and reflect your (alumni) opinions of all things pertaining to the University plans, policies and existence; and second, to inform you as to what is going on in the University and among your fellow alumni." The Alumni News continued in a magazine format until November 1963 when it adopted a newspaper format. This format continued through the summer of 1969, when it ceased publication until it resumed in December 1971. In July 1987, the Alumni News once again ceased publication. It was reinstated as the Northwestern Alumni News in 1994.
