Biography

The Northwestern University Staff Advisory Council (NUSAC) was formed in 1973 by order of University President Robert H. Strotz. The Council, which exists administratively under the aegis of the Department of Personnel, was constituted to “serve as a permanent, continuing structure for communication between the University's administration and its non-academic employees.”

Abstract The Records of NUSAC include the founding documents of the Council, minutes of meetings of the Interim Non-Academic Staff Committee, which served as the precursor of NUSAC, and a nearly complete set of minutes of meetings of the Council (1976 through 1978 are lacking). Correspondence of the Council, most of which are photocopies, occupy seven folders and include correspondence of Jane C. Taylor (1972-1973), who was instrumental in efforts which resulted in the initial establishment of NUSAC....
