Abstract

Jeff Coney became an official scorer for Northwestern University men’s basketball in 1971; as a Northwestern undergraduate, he served as student manager for men’s basketball from 1970 to 1974. The collection consists of an official National Collegiate Athletic Association basketball score book documenting Northwestern University men’s basketball games dating between December 2, 1972 and December 8, 1973.

Abstract While a student at Northwestern University (beginning in 1924), Luke A. Johnsons earned a total of seven letters in football, basketball, and baseball. He played football for the Chicago Bears, becoming player-coach, and serving as co-head coadh during World War II. He remained with the Bears until 1968. Abstract

Collection consists of the materials of Billy McKinney, Class of 1977 alumnus of Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy, and long-time highest scorer of Northwestern’s basketball team who went on to have a successful career in professional basketball. Collection materials span 4 oversize boxes and date from circa 1969 to 1995.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of one Lowe & Campbell Official Basketball Score Book, used to document the contests of Northwestern University’s men’s basketball team from December 8, 1941 through March 6, 1943. Statistical accounts of both home and away games are recorded in the book. Abstract

Sociologist, educator, and university dean and vice president, James P. Pitts (1944- ) received his B.A. in Political Science and M.A., and Ph.D. in Sociology from Northwestern University. His papers fill 7 boxes, and span the years 1961 to 2013. Composed of newspaper clippings, press releases, curricula vitae, correspondences, and published work, the papers contain Pitts' writings, awards, and a scrapbook and jersey from his time at Northwestern.
