Biography

Edwin Drexel Godfrey and his wife, Fanny, resided at 21 East 66th Street in New York at the time when Godfrey began compiling these scrapbooks, though they also spent time at Popomora, their estate in Oceanic, New Jersey. Godfrey's wife, Fanny (née Hoagland), often hosted luncheons at their residence for other society women, and Fanny often accompanied Godfrey to the theatre productions compiled here. The Godfreys also enjoyed traveling abroad in Europe.
