Biography

E. R. (Elvadore R.) Noderer (1907-1996) worked as a Chicago Tribune foreign correspondent from 1939 to 1950; a general assignment reporter in Chicago from 1950 to 1952; editorial writer for the Washington Times-Herald from 1952 to 1954; and a member of the promotion and publicity department of the Chicago Tribune until his retirement in 1972. His significant contributions as a foreign correspondent were made between 1939 and 1950 when he covered the events of World War II and the partition of Palestine and creation of Israel in 1948. General Douglas MacArthur awarded him the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon in 1945.
