Arrangement Note

Arranged in three series: 1. Music Manuscripts; 2. Correspondence; 3. Ephemera. Series 1 is further divided into six subseries: 1. Operas; 2. Vocal Music; 3. Orchestra/Band Music; 4. Chamber Music and Solo Works; 5. Transcriptions; 6. Miscellaneous Sketches. The folders are arranged chronologically within each subseries. Series 2-3 are unprocessed.

Method of Acquisition

The collection was purchased from Jan Meyerowitz in 1980 and shipped between 1980 and 1984; additional materials sent in 2000 after the deaths of Meyerowitz and his wife.  Annotated full and vocal scores of Eastward in Eden (edited 1977?) were donated by the Boston Lyric Opera in 2004.
