The photographs have German captions printed on the recto and include publishing information from Walther Dobbertin, a German photographer based in Tanzania. One depicts Lake Tanganyika, taken from the shore, with a ship in the middle distance. The other depicts breaking waves and the horizon, presumably taken on Lake Tanganyika as well.
