Group of nine African women posing standing behind a group of mtoto (children) and two more women seated (one child is squatting on his haunches). The women have shaven heads and are mostly clothed in drapes of animal hide. From their earrings and necklaces they appear to be Masai. The group is posing in front of a corrugated iron shed

Photographs and postcards depicting Zanzibar, Ripon Falls in Uganda, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, and Aden, plus a few from Egypt and Rome. Most photographs are captioned in ink, but the original captions differ somewhat from those recorded in the inventory, as noted. In addition, some captions have been amended or corrected in pencil. These additions and corrections have been noted as well.
