The Phi Mu Alpha Minute Books consist of two volumes of hand-written meeting minutes. Minutes include information about each meeting: date and time, purpose, names of fraternity officers, and motions made at the meeting (who made them and what they were about, including meeting times, suggestions, responsibilities).

            The first volume, spanning the dates March 13, 1910, to August 14, 1914, includes the proceedings of the local organization founded at Northwestern University's School of Music on March 13, 1910, which led to the establishment of Iota of "Phi Mu Alpha," and the proceedings of the Iota chapter of "Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia," established on April 29, 1910.

The meeting minutes in Volume 2 cover the time period from September 22, 1921 to February 25, 1929.
