Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The records in this series fills three and one half-size boxes dating from 1955 to 1974. They are arranged into separate categories representing the courses, conferences, and programs supported by the Ford Foundation Criminal Law Grant. Much of the material in the four boxes consists of correspondence, both incoming and outgoing. Most of this correspondence deals with either budgetary issues, or with annual reports submitted by the Law School to the Ford Foundation (such as the brief but useful summary of the first five years of the Criminal Law Project in Box 1 Folder 1). Several of the folders also contain brochures advertising the various courses and conferences subsidized by the grants, and subsequent newspaper reports on these events. Other interesting published and unpublished material includes instructors manuals used during courses (such as a Police Raid Manual in Box 3 Folder 3) and copies of conference papers. Lists of students and participants are available for most of the events sponsored by the Criminal Law Project.
