Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Nancy Dussault papers fill 17 boxes and span the years 1936-2014.

The collection primarily consists of materials related to her many stage and television performances, including scripts, programs, clippings, and scores.

The Biographical Information series contains Dussault’s baptismal certificate, family photographs, and records from her primary and high school years, including three high school yearbooks. Her college years at Northwestern University are represented by grade reports, progress correspondence, essays, and photographs. Also included in this series is a passport issued in 1974.

Correspondence consists of letters relating to professional matters and thank you notes from students.

The Performance series contains materials related to Dussault’s stage and television performances. Among the highlights are Do Re Mi, The Sound of Music, Into the Woods, South Pacific, and some of her earlier performances during her years at Northwestern University.

The Programs and Publications include programs from performances that Dussault was not in and publications with articles about Dussault.

Awards, items from The Bicentennial Celebration in 1976, and Identification Badges from various award ceremonies and the performing arts camp where Dussault taught are all included in Box 7.

The Scores, Posters, and Photographs series all contain performance-related materials, most notably a scrapbook covering her career from 1957-1966.

Costume Details and Other Items include two cast jackets, one from I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking it on the Road and Singin,’ a pair of boots that were part of Dussault’s costume in The Sound of Music, and a ring binder that held the script for The 1984 Tony Awards.
