Macbeth
Scope and Contents
This addition consists of set, stage, and costume designs once separated, due to their oversized formats, from the main body of Mitchell’s papers.
Predominant among these materials are colorfully rendered, watercolor set designs for theatrical productions staged through Northwestern University’s University Theatre program. While some of the designs are undated, they appear to date from the 1930s and early 1940s, when Mitchell was in the early stages of his career on the Northwestern University faculty.
