Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The biographical material, arranged chronologically by day, includes drafts of two autobiographical letters (1920-21), faculty information questionnaires, two expense books (primarily from his student days at the University of Chicago, 1917-18, 1923-25), and correspondence (most of which pertains to the work on the anthology Latin Literature in Translation.)

The publications include manuscript and typed drafts and notes of articles and books. There are a few reprints and tear sheets of articles. The major component is the galleys of the Latin anthology.

The Vernon Robert Dorjahn Papers and correspondence relate mostly to his anthropological research among the Timne in Sierra Leone.
