Henry Howard Kafer Collection
Scope and Contents
The Henry Howard Kafer collection is comprised of one photograph, depicting the Northwestern University football team of 1904, garments and other textiles. Noteworthy is Kafer’s football jersey, purple wool with leather padding stitched to the shoulders and elbows. Other items include Kafer’s letter sweater, purple with a white block N; his pair of Northwestern football uniform woolen socks; his Class of 1905 cap; and a Northwestern University felt pennant.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
Donated by Claire H. Sink, Kafer’s granddaughter, to the Northwestern University Athletics and Recreation Department and then transferred to Northwestern University Archives, November, 2016 (Accession #16-135).
