Scope and Contents

The Evanston Inventure records fill 18 Boxes and span the years 1973 to 2010. The materials are separated into major categories: Meeting Minutes, Correspondence Files, and Inventure General Files.

The Meeting Minutes span the period 1984-2010. In addition to containing the original charter and bylaws of Evanston Inventure, the files contain the records of the Evanston Inventure Executive Committee meetings. These files provide insight into membership and staff of the organization, the financial state of the company, the organization's goals, and the issues and challenges that they had to deal with. Meeting minutes for the Technopolis Committee are included, which provide information about the goals and operation of this Inventure affiliated operation.

The Correspondence Files span the period from 1995 to 2004. The majority of the correspondence files are communications between Kysiak and the leaders of Inventure member organizations, Northwestern University administration, and City of Evanston officials.

The Inventure General Files which make up the bulk of this collection span the years 1984 to 2010. The General Files of Inventure are comprised of numerous studies related to the economic conditions of the Community. These studies provide insight into many of the major issues that Evanston dealt with over the course of its 26 year existence. Additionally, there are many folders that detail the relationship between Inventure and member organizations, particularly the City of Evanston.  Finally, there is a small amount of material which details the day to day operations of the organization.
