Virginia Buettner (1917-2004) Collection
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of a few loose pages of a scrapbook reflecting Buettner’s social activities while a Northwestern student. Items found affixed to the scrapbook pages relate to sorority rushing, attendance at the 1939 Interfraternity Ball, attendance at the 1936 Waa-Mu Show, participation in Women’s Athletic Association activities, and the 1939 Northwestern commencement ceremony.
Loose items include a Delta Gamma sorority group photograph, 1937; Buettner’s grade records, 1936-1939; Northwestern football game tickets, 1936, 1939-1942; a 1938 Homecoming badge; a New Student Week program, 1935; a 1938 Waa-Mu Show program; a felt depiction of the Northwestern University wildcat carrying a football; and a Wrangler fraternity Annual Spring Formal dance card, 1939.

Buettner’s Syllabus yearbooks covering the four years of her attendance at Northwestern University have been added to the department’s collection of duplicates.
