University Housing Budget Records
Scope and Contents
The series of University Housing Administration budget records fills three and one-half archival boxes and spans the years 1947-48 to 1980-81. The budget material consists of annual profit and loss statements (or income and expense reports) complied at the end of each academic year. The statements pertain to income and expenses of university dormitories, apartments, and commons areas. The annual statements are arranged chronologically by year.
All the records show room service and food service income and expenses. In addition, student counseling costs are detailed (1953-54, 1954-55, 1955-56, 1965-66, 1966-67, 1967-68, and 1968-69), maintenance expenses are given (1959-60, 1973-74, 1974-75, 1976-77, and 1977-78), housing rate schedules are shown (1974-75, 1975-76, and 1976-77), and amortization information is calculated (1973-74, 1974-75, 1975-76, 1976-77, and 1977-78).
Closing building maintenance expense statements from the Department of Buildings and Grounds are present for the years 1973-74, 1974-75, 1976-77, and 1977-78, further itemizing the general maintenance expenses listed in the profit and loss statements.
