Scope and Contents

The Albert Harold Rubenstein Papers fill three archival boxes and span the years 1951 to 2001, with the bulk of the papers falling between 1959-1966. The papers reflect Rubenstein's role as the director of the Program of Research on the Management of Research and Development of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences at Northwestern University. The papers are divided into three subseries: biographical materials, numbered documents, and unnumbered documents, with the bulk of the records consisting of papers, articles, and grant proposals in the field of management and industrial engineering, dating between 1959 and 1969.

The three folders of biographical material (1959-2001) are labeled personal data, clippings, and news releases. The personal data consists of biographical sketches, a faculty biographical record, curriculum vitae, and an announcement of honors and awards from the Northwestern University Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences website. The clippings folder consists of newspaper and magazine clippings (1959 to 1965). The news releases folder consists of releases of the Northwestern University News Service (1959 to 1982).

The Albert Harold Rubenstein Papers fill three archival boxes and span the years 1951 to 2001, with the bulk of the papers falling between 1959-1966. The papers reflect Rubenstein's role as the director of the Program of Research on the Management of Research and Development of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences at Northwestern University. The papers are divided into three major series: biographical materials (including curriculum vitae, honors and awards), numbered documents, and unnumbered documents. The bulk of the collection consists of papers, articles, and grant proposals in the field of management and industrial engineering, dating between 1959 and 1969.

Arrangement

The papers of Albert Harold Rubenstein are arranged into: biographical materials (arranged chronologically); clippings and news releases (arranged chronologically); numbered documents (arranged according to three different numbering schemes); and unnumbered documents (arranged chronologically).

Method of Acquisition

The Albert Harold Rubenstein Papers are composed of Accession # 01-37, received from Robert Michaelson of the Seeley G. Mudd Library for Science and Engineering on March 15, 2001, and Accession # 79-135, transferred from the University Archives biographical files on July 25, 1979.

Separated Materials

Two inches of duplicate and extraneous material were discarded.
