Scope and Contents

This series fills three boxes. The records of the Physical Education and Health Department span the years from 1968 to 1980 but date primarily from the years 1977-80. During that time Walter Gregg served as chair of the Department. The records are related, for the most part, to departmental administration and finances but also document curricular matters.

Budget records include financial projections and expenditure accounts especially relating to intramural and recreational sports programs. Also included are student pay records consisting of time sheets, work schedules and work–study records for students employed by the Department from 1977 to 1979.

Curricular records document Summer Session programs from the period 1978-79 and include class schedules, promotional materials, and application forms. In addition there are proposals for Department-sponsored programs on drug and alcohol abuse as well as materials on health, sex education, dance, and exercise and sports courses.
