Scope and Contents

The collection includes materials dating from Laughtrack’s formation in June 1979 to its end in 1981, including resumes, photographs, scripts, correspondence, newspaper clippings and advertisements, press releases, contracts, and financial records. There are also four cassette tapes of Laughtrack performances, an audio tape of a test radio commercial, and one video cassette tape of a live performance.

Abstract

Laughtrack Comedy Group was an Evanston-based troupe, comprised of Northwestern alumni, that performed from 1979 to 1981. Their records include resumes, photographs, scripts, correspondence, newspaper clippings, press releases, contracts, and financial records.

Arrangement

The records are organized into: general information, scripts, correspondence, newspaper clippings and advertisements, flyers, press releases, information on individual performances, financial records, and audiovisual materials. When possible, items in folders are arranged in chronological order.
