Scope and Contents
The Cecil M. Gillespie Papers fill four boxes and consist primarily of teaching files and materials relating to publications. There are aslo small amounts of biographical data, correspondence, and research and consulting material.
The teaching files include material related to two courses Gillespie taught and a substantial amount of reading notes made by two of his research assistants, Jeff Lee and Ronald Teichman.
The bulk of the material pertaining to the publications consists of handwritten drafts and card-format reading notes for a book tentatively entitled Personnel and Manpower Information Systems.

The Cecil M. Gillespie papers are organized into: biographical materials; general correspondence; teaching files (in alphabetical order by course number, name, or category); research and consulting files; publications.
Method of Acquisition
The University Archives received the Cecil M. Gillespie Papers through the courtesy of Rolf Erickson on April 27, 1983 (Accession #87-78).
Separated Materials
Approximately forty linear inches of extraneous materials have been discarded.
