Scope and Contents
The Robert H. Strotz Speeches comprise five and one half boxes and span the years 1971 through 1984. The files contain photocopies or, in some cases, ribbon copies of speeches or outlines of speeches given by Robert H. Strotz in his capacity as President of Northwestern University (1970-84). Many folders contain in addition a small amount of correspondence relative to the events at which President Strotz spoke.

Abstract
The Robert H. Strotz Speeches comprise five and one half boxes and span the years 1971 through 1984. The files contain photocopies or, in some cases, ribbon copies of speeches or outlines of speeches given by Robert H. Strotz in his capacity as President of Northwestern University (1970-84).
Arrangement Note
The speeches are filed alphabetically by folder title, in essentially the order in which they were received. Within the general alphabetical order, several classifications appear. They are Alumni Organizations, Northwestern University Associates, Athletics, Dedications, Dental School, Graduate School of Management, John Evans Club, Law School, Medical School, Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps, and “Reagonomics and Science and Technology.” Speeches are filed either by title or under the name of the organization or event for which they were written.
Method of Acquisition
The Robert H. Strotz Speeches were transferred to the University Archives on August 7, 1986, by the Office of the President, as Accession #86-169. Two earlier accessions (#83-19 and #86-29), which contained chiefly duplicates, were interfiled with the main series or discarded as appropriate.

Other Descriptive Information
This series was incorrectly assigned the series number 3/18/1, which is properly designated for the Robert H. Strotz Papers. Folder labels for this series still bear the incorrect series number.
