Abstract

The Tod H. Francis photograph collection spans the period 1977-1983 and fills 16 boxes. Francis, an alumnus of Northwestern University, took photographs of activities of student life on campus during his years at Northwestern, especially fraternity and sorority activities. The collection contains color photographic negatives, prints, contact sheets, and transparencies.

Raymond W. Mack (1927-) Papers

Abstract Raymond W. Mack began his career at Northwestern as an assistant professor of sociology in 1953, and became a full professor in 1962. He was the founding director of Northwestern's Center for Urban Affairs from 1968-1971. He left teaching to become Vice President and Dean of Faculties, then Provost. Abstract

Mayde Joss served as housemother for Northwestern's chapter of Phi Delta Theta, a fraternity located the campus of Northwestern University, from 1947 to 1973. The Mayde Joss collection consists of 33 small format black-and-white photographic prints and 13 35mm color slides. The photographs appear to date from the late 1940s or early 1950s, Joss’s early years as housemother for Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

Northwestern University Settlement Association Food Client Records

Abstract

The Northwestern University provided emergency assistance through its Emergency Food Pantry and Clothing Supply. This series consists of three boxes of client information files generated by the Settlement's emergency assistance program between Spring, 1985 and September, 1986. The records consist mainly of photocopies of identification presented by the clients in order to verify their residence within the Settlement's jurisdiction.

Elizabeth Wysor was an American opera singer and educator. On May 15, 1953 she was appointed assistant professor of voice at the School of Music at Northwestern University, where she taught mainly applied voice, phonetics and diction. She retired in 1970. Her papers fill 7 boxes and span the years 1927 through 2000. Included are professional biographical materials, concert programs, recital announcements, correspondence, publicity materials, and phonograph records.
