Abstract

The records of Raymond W. Mack (Vice President and Dean of Faculties, and Provost, of Northwestern University) contain correspondence, proposals and reports, charts and statistics, and meetings of minutes. These materials span the years 1958 to 1986, chiefly covering Mack's term as Provost. Some materials with earlier dates are also included in this series; some of these are from the office of Payson Wild, who served as Provost before Mack, and others are Mack's own papers.

University Library Photograph Negatives

Abstract

This series includes 30 rolls of negatives from photographs taken of the University Library. Most rolls total 36 exposures. The negatives, black and white and on Kodak Tri-X Pan film, are in 35mm format. The photographs, apparently taken during the early 1970s, are mainly of the interior of the University Library although some shots of Deering Library also are included.

Abstract

Harry Olson graduated from Northwestern University's Law School in 1891. He served as Chief Justice of the Municipal Court of Chicago from 1906-1930. The Harry Olson papers date from 1906 to 1940, and include biographical, correspondence, and subject files, with correspondence comprising the bulk of the series. This series represents the surviving portion of a larger body of papers, half of which were irretrievably damaged by mold, damp, and vermin.
