Jews and World War II The first series in this collection contains black and white photographs, originally published in a variety of period newspapers, especially The Mirror, describing events related to, and from World War II and the Jewish Holocaust. Included are portraits of Jewish men and boys; images of Jewish life, holidays, and anti-Nazi protests, primarily in New York; images of Jewish life in Europe under the Nazis; images of Jewish children rescued through the German Underground and Vaad Hahatzala; documentation of Nazi atrocities, primarily from 1945; and photographs from the 1933 Synagogue Congregation Ansher Obertyn vandalism case.

Israel  The second series also contains black and white newspaper photographs, as well as one hand-colored image. Included are a few images of Jewish refugees, but primarily the series consists of images of pre-state Israel; documentation of fighting and the foundation of the Israeli state from 1948; and images of Jews in Palestine.
