Grant, J.R., Mrs.

 File — Box: 14

Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

This collection of Colonel Robert R. McCormick's personal correspondence covers the years 1920-1955, with a small part of the material dating from as early as 1914 and before. (For example, a file is included on the Colonel's trip to Russia in 1915, and also a few letters written to relatives during his school years.) The collection includes much material on the Colonel's real estate, particularly Cantigny and Boynton Beach, as well as his club memberships, his military career, his speeches and travels, and his association with Yale. Of particular interest are 9 diaries (in Box 10) which partially cover the years 1901 to 1918 and include many of his World War I experiences; also, the family correspondence in Boxes 18 and 19.
