This collection of wooden statues, found in the McCormick Library of Special Collections, consists of eight figures of the Buddha in various poses. The statues depict the Buddha in seated and standing positions. Materials are wood, gilt, polychrome and paint.

Conditions Governing Access

There are no restrictions on use of the materials in the department for research; all patrons must comply with federal copyright regulations. This collection is stored off-site and requires two business days’ advance notice for retrieval. Reading room staff will require the collection name and box numbers you wish to consult in order to process a retrieval request. All requested collection materials must be viewed in the reading room of the Charles Deering McCormick Library of Special Collections.
