Scope and Contents

In February and July, 1984, the Marketing Department turned over to the Tribune Company Archives a total of five cartons of promotion files dealing with individual Tribune staff members. The present collection contains materials selected from this group that consist of correspondence within the Promotion Department (later the Marketing Department) or with third parties; the latter dealing with speaking or broadcasting engagements or (in the cases of Harold Grumhaus and J. Howard Wood) their biographies in Who's Who.

Abstract

    In February and July, 1984, the Marketing Department turned over to the Tribune Company Archives a total of five cartons of promotion files dealing with individual Tribune staff members. Clippings, biographies, photos, press releases, and correspondence directly with the employees about their biographies was extracted, and filed in the appropriate folders of the vertical files -- normally X-5 or XI-127 -- under the names of the individuals.
