Scope and Contents

This color film with sound uses color illustrations, animation, diagrams, and footage of patients to detail the structure of several different nerves and explain the process of impulses in the brain and nerve and muscle movement. The effects of injuries to nerves are detailed and exhibited by the patients, including effect on muscle movement, muscle atrophy, sensation loss, and effects to the skin. Nerves detailed are: ulnar, median, radial, brachial-plexus nerve network, sciatic, peroneal, and tibial nerves. Surgical repair of a peripheral nerve detailed through color illustration. Process of nerve regeneration is explained. Preferred splint designs shown. Tips for physical therapy given.
