Scope and Contents

Color and black and white, silent film of the Northwestern University Dental School alumni golf outing on June 11, 1936, at Bunker Hill Country Club in Chicago. Reel 1 shows men on the golf course, the country club grounds, the gardens, and cars in the parking lot, and Reel 2 shows the presentation of the Dean's cup to Al Young. Intertitle cards identify some of the men shown and describe the footage. A title card describes the film as the "Third annual official movie record of alumni play days."

Men identified include: Reel 1: Dental School Dean Arthur Black, Leroy Hartman, program chairman J. J. Johnsten, Craver, Grabow, and banquet committee chairman Eddie Baumann.

Reel 2: Merit award recipient George Maxwell, “Boss of Golf” Eddie O’Grady, incoming alumni president Edgar Swanson, current alumni president Chris Davidson, Assistant Dean Charles Freeman, film director Ben Partridge.

Other men who appear, based on notes with the film reels, include: Reel 1: Merrifield, Christopher Braude, Hoffman, and Hatton. Reel 2: Pearce, Smith, Dick Bovik, Methuen, Haberle, Romnes, Salisbury, and Moldal.
