Scope and Contents

Silent, color film of the celebration of Northwestern University Dental School’s 50th anniversary in 1937.

Reel 1 includes Dean Arthur D. Black speaking to alumni, demonstrations of research into caries (cavities) with doctors and nurses working on samples with various types of lab equipment, members of the honors class at a banquet and the Alumni Association golf outing at the Edgewood Valley Country Club in La Grange. Reel 2 includes the golf outing and presentation of the Dean’s Cup to R. L. Lasater.

Includes intertitle cards describing the footage and identifying some of the people shown including, in Reel 1: Quinlan and Alumni Association president Edgar W. Swanson; and in Reel 2: Alumni Association golf chairman Eddie O’Grady.

All attendees of the golf outing parade past the camera at the end of the film.
