Correspondence, writings, and miscellaneous papers of Louis D. Boshes, MD. Writings include eulogies written by Boshes of prominent Chicago physicians, many with Northwestern connections, including neurosurgeons Eric Oldberg and Loyal Davis. Correspondence consists of personal letters from Boshes to Agnes M. Walker (who knew Boshes from her time as a nurse researcher at Michael Reese Hospital), including photocopies of letters to Boshes from Daniel Ruge, personal physician to President Ronald Reagan, and from British neuroscientist Lord John Walton. Other papers relate to Boshes ongoing connection to Northwestern University Medical School as an alumnus, including correspondence related to his involvement in fundraising for the Medical School's Centennial celebration, correspondence and alumni newsletters related to his medical school class of 1936 and their reunions, and correspondence about efforts to assist the widow of Northwestern neurosurgeon Stephen W. Ranson. Also includes photos of Boshes and Agnes Walker at an event at the International Club, Chicago, in 2000; photos of Boshes at other alumni events; an audio cassette of the 1991 NUMS Alumni Weekend; issues of the Cook County Hospital Internes' and Residents' Alumni Association, edited by Boshes; copies of journal articles on the history of neurosurgery; and two issues of Chicago Medicine magazine with articles by Boshes.
