Scope and Contents

Papers of Northwestern alumnus, professor, and neurosurgeon Loyal Davis (MD 1918, MS 1921, PhD 1923) consisting of the text of speeches given by Davis in the later years of his career, including some promotional materials related to a speech made at the University of Washington in 1960; a fictional story written by Davis called "The Doctor;" materials related to Davis's book J. B. Murphy: Stormy Petrel of Surgery, published in 1938; notes kept by Davis as a student at Northwestern University Medical School; and an undated life mask made of Davis's face.

Physical Description

Books of medical school notes are in poor condition with missing boards, split spines, and red rot. Life mask is chipped.
