Abstract Byron Claude Mathis joined the Northwestern University faculty as assistant professor of education in 1956 and was promoted to associate professor in 1960. Abstract Sekular joined Northwestern's faculty in 1965 as a professor of psychology. His research interests were primarily in the fields of perception, vision, illusions, and reading, especially among the elderly. The Robert W. Sekuler Papers fill thirteen boxes and span the period 1960-1989. They are organized in five categories: correspondence, teaching files, research files, papers presented before professional organizations, and publications. Four folders of biographical materials are also included.
