Emily Boettcher Bogue (1907-1992) Papers
Carol Lems-Dworkin Papers
The papers of Carol Lems-Dworkin represent several aspects of her varied career: pianist, musicologist, teacher, and lecturer. The bulk of the materials in the collection stem from her study of the music of Africa, and the influence of African music on African American music--including the music of Scott Joplin--and music of the Caribbean. The collection consists of sound recordings, slides, and materials on paper.
Gui Mombaerts (1902-1993) Papers
Gui (Guillaume) Mombaerts toured Europe as a pianist after winning the 1926 Prix Gunther and ranking as finalist in the 1927 International Chopin Piano Competition. He joined the faculty of Northwestern University's School of Music in 1948, and served as Ralph Votapek piano instructor. The Gui Mombaerts Papers, spanning the years 1922-1980, are contained in two boxes. They include biographical material, vitae, press releases, clippings, and interviews.
