Scope and Contents The following collection consists of the corrected manuscripts and typescripts for a group of essays, mostly written as book reviews for the New Statesman between 1970 and 1972. Pritchett writes about books by such authors as Graham Greene, E.M. Forster, Richard Ellmann, Vladimir Nabokov, Edmund Wilson, Walker Percy, Jorge Luis Borges, and Norman Mailer.
