Abstract

The Anti-Vietnam War Strike Materials Collection comprises a diverse assortment of documents and other materials relating to the University-wide strike that took place over a seven day period in May of 1970. The collection of newspaper clippings, press releases, flyers, and memos records the events of the strike and its aftermath through the summer and fall of 1970.

Abstract During the spring quarter of 1970, students at Northwestern voted to go on strike to demonstrate their opposition to the Vietnam War. The Sandy Doyle Anti-Vietnam War Strike Collection contains materials collected by Northwestern freshman Sandy Doyle during the strike, including issues of The Daily Northwestern, the armband worn by student protestors, photographs of the strike, and memos circulated amongst students.
