Abstract The Nuremberg Trial Collection consists of materials amassed by Charles J. Gallagher (Northwestern University Law School, 1924), a court reporter. Included are his shorthand notebooks for sessions of the Nuremberg Trials held at the Palace of Justice in Nuremberg, Germany from 1945-1948 to try members of the Nazi regime for crimes committed during World War II. Abstract Materials in this collection of 45 documents pertain to the institution of slavery in the Americas. The documents include correspondence on the slave trade, assignments on chain gangs, bills of sale, manumission papers, and wills and bequests. They also include letters providing character references for free Black people, reports on a school in an African American religious community in Baltimore, Maryland, and an indenture agreement between a printer and an apprentice.
Abstract The William Luke Photograph Collection is a collection of photographs of buses from at least 60 countries. Each photograph is annotated by William Luke. The dates of publication of the photographs range from 1880 to 2010, and the majority of the photographs were published between 1980 and 1999.
