Abstract Late in 1983, Linda Walsh Jenkins, Associate Professor of Theatre, proposed an expansion of the current Ph.D program in Theatre to one in Theatre and Drama. Abstract The 33 Theatre Department Scrapbooks in this series fill 16 archival boxes and document the production history of the University Theatre, from 1928 through 1998. The scrapbooks are arranged roughly in chronological order. In general, the scrapbooks contain press clippings, advertisements, photographs, and production programs (including cast, technical and artistic staff lists) from University Theater season productions. Abstract The Anne H. Thurman taught in the Evanston, Illinois public schools. She served on the faculty of New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois. Thurman took an active and varied role over many years in the promotion of drama in Evanston schools and in the Children's Theatre of Evanston. Thurman lectured part-time at Northwestern in 1968–1969 and joined the regular faculty in 1971 as an associate professor of dramatic production. She attained the rank of professor in 1975. Abstract The prompt books for theatrical productions of Northwestern University's School of Speech include scripts for University Theatre productions, annotated for use by the prompter, along with sketches of the staging and other notes. Bound prompt books include most of the productions from number 50 (1933) through number 320 (1957).
