Abstract The Edith W. Cooke scrapbook spans the years 1907 through 1913 with the bulk of the materials dating from 1910 through 1911. Owen L. Coon (1894-1948) Scrapbook

Abstract

The Owen L. Coon Scrapbook began as a record of Coon's years at Northwestern University. Nearly half of the scrapbook does document Coon's college life between 1912 and 1919. However, the balance of the scrapbook is filled with clippings, photographs, and ephemera that precede and postdate Coon's Northwestern years—including items from Coon's youth in Rantoul and from his travels in Europe, as well as general Coon family photographs and memorabilia.

Abstract

Marjorie May Cowan obtained a B.S. degree in Liberal Arts from Northwestern University in 1933. A member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, she was active in campus activities and social affairs. Her papers are contained in one half-size box and date from 1929-1934, 1949, and 1984. The bulk of the papers consists of Cowan's diaries. During the years 1932 through 1934 she kept detailed accounts of her social and academic activities and interests.

Edward Henry Gordon Craig (1872-1966) was a member of the Lyceum, London, where he received training as an actor and began his career in stage design and production (1889-95). He was appointed Royal Designer for Industry of the Royal College of Art (1938), made a Companion of Honour (1958) and was appointed president of the Mermaid Theatre, London (1964).

Rance Crain attended Northwestern University from 1958-1960, graduating with a degree in Journalism from Medill. He was President of his family-owned publication company, Crain Communications, and served as editor-in-chief of Advertising Age and several other publications. It was founded in 1962 by Northwestern University alumni Gordon and Carole Segal. Crate and Barrel's corporate name is Euromarket Designs, Inc. and is based in Northbrook, Illinois. It has two sister brands, CB2 and Land of Nod/Crate & Kids. The company is privately held and since 2008 owned by the Otto Group of Hamburg, Germany.

Cresap, McCormick, and Paget Administrative Evaluations

Abstract

These studies, produced by the management consultant firm of Cresap, McCormick and Paget, Inc., were commissioned by the University administration in an effort to decrease the size of the clerical and secretarial staff of the University. Each study is discrete and includes a brief review of the history of the department under consideration, analysis of its operation in 1976/77, and an evaluation of the efficiency with which it makes use of nonprofessional staff.
