Abstract John Tinney McCutcheon (1870–1949) was a cartoonist on the staff of various Chicago newspapers, the Chicago Record (1889–1901), The Chicago Record-Herald (1901–1903), and the Chicago Tribune (1903–1946). Foster G. McGaw (1897-1986) Papers

Abstract The papers of Foster McGaw (the founder and guiding force behind the American Hospital Supply Corporation) document his life between 1908 and 1986 and fill 95 boxes. They are divided into three subseries: Personal Files, Philanthropic Records, and Financial Records. The papers illuminate both McGaw's personal concerns and, to a lesser extent, his business affairs, although these areas sometimes overlap.

Abstract This series consists of twenty-six scrapbooks presented to Foster and Mary McGaw by some of the institutions nationwide to which the McGaws made substantial financial donations. The scrapbooks acknowledge the McGaws’ gifts of building funds, scholarships, and other monetary contributions, and commemorate ground breaking and cornerstone- laying ceremonies, building dedications, award dinners, memorial concerts and arts festivals.

John P. McGowan (1926-2006) Papers

Abstract John Patrick McGowan was was Northwestern University Library's (NUL) first Associate Librarian, and held the position of head librarian for 20 years. Under McGowan's leadership, NUL developed NOTIS, an online library system which revolutionized the creation and presentation of catalog records for library materials. McGowan retired from NUL in 1992. His papers span the years 1956 to 2006. The collection is divided into biographical information, general correspondence, papers, and speeches.

Abstract The McIntyre and Heath Archive contains the files of the vaudeville partnership of James McIntyre and Thomas Heath, which spanned more than five decades from 1874 until 1927. It includes contracts for bookings, wage reports, scripts for productions, photographs, handbills and posters, sheet music, clippings, and correspondence. He was appointed Dean of University College (Chicago Campus) in 1948 and held that position until he became Dean of the School of Education in 1951.
