Donald S. Berry (1911- ) Papers

Abstract In August, 1957, Berry came to Northwestern University as professor of civil engineering and remained until his retirement on August 31, 1979. He was chairman of the department from 1962 to 1969. From 1976 to 1979, Berry served as a co-principal investigator for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Jack Berry (1918-1980) Papers

Abstract The Jack Berry Papers fill eighteen legal size boxes. They consist of small amounts of biographical materials, correspondence, and reports along with larger bodies of research files and publications. At Northwestern Berry served as the director of the Program of Oriental and African Languages. In 1970 and 1971 he held visiting professorships at the University of Ghana and the University of the West Indies.

Abstract James L. Bixby was a member of Northwestern's class of 1943, though he did not complete the requirements for a degree. He was a photographer for the Purple Parrot, a highly regarded campus humor and feature magazine, as well as the Daily Northwestern and the Syllabus. Boxes 54-82 consist of exhibit files, spanning the dates 1980-1997, with files arranged chronologically by exhibit.
