John L. Ward (1945- ) Papers, 1976-2017
John L. Ward is the Clinical Professor Emeritus of Family Enterprise at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. The John L. Ward papers fill 37 boxes and include some biographical material along with writings about and quoting Ward, his drafts for essays and books, copies of published works, interviews, speeches and presentations, digital material and audiovisual recordings of his work.

Andy Warhol
John Wilcock compiled reminiscences of Andy Warhol from his friends and published them in The Autobiography and Sex Life of Andy Warhol with photos by Shunk-Kender et al (New York : Other Scenes, Inc., 1971).
Willis Weaver Collection
Rev. Willis Weaver was chaplain of the Illinois Commandery of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion. He had a scholarly interest in Edwin M. Stanton, President Lincoln’s Secretary of War. This collection of material consists of typescripts of several of his articles on Stanton, as well as the published version of an address on Stanton given before the Military Order of the Loyal Legion, Commandery of Illinois, in Chicago in 1927.
J. Carson Webster (1905-1989) Papers
The J. Carson Webster Papers fill twelve boxes and span the period 1931-1989. The Papers are comprised of six categories: education files, correspondence, teaching files, research files, professional organizations files, and publications. Two folders of biographical materials and three folders of speeches and talks are also included.
Arthur Josiah Weiss (1894-1984) Scrapbook
Arthur Josiah Weiss (1894-1984) was a student at Northwestern University’s Evanston Academy and began studies at Northwestern University before transferring to the University of California. The collection consists of Weiss’s “Memory and Fellowship Book,” a scrapbook documenting his Evanston Academy experiences and various activities dating between 1912 and 1914.
Carl Weissner Archive
The Carl Weissner Archive consists of correspondence, tapes of poetry readings, manuscripts and graphic materials by international avantgarde writers of the 1960s, and some monographs and serials related to these authors. Included are works by such authors as William Burroughs, Harold Norse, Ezra Pound, Charles Bukowski, Claude Pélieu, Mary Beach, Dan Georgakas, Donatella Manganotti, and Jan Herman, as well as Carl Weissner himself. Many of these artists were part of the Fluxus movement.
Theodore F. Welch (1933- ) Papers
The papers of Theodore F. Welch Papers (Assistant University Librarian at Northwestern University) fill two boxes, and span the years 1967 to 1983. The bulk of the papers consist of correspondence documenting Welch's work at Northwestern and elsewhere in the United States, his strong connections with Japan and especially with Japanese libraries and librarians, his tenure working for the United Nations, and some of his personal relationships.

Oswald Werner (1928- ) Papers
Oswald Werner joined the faculty of Northwestern in 1963 and remained until his retirement in 1998. His research focused on linguistics as well as cultural anthropology, particularly as they related to the Navajo. The Oswald Werner Papers fill forty-one boxes and span the years 1959 to 2007. They are arranged into six major categories: biographical materials, correspondence, Northwestern University general files, Northwestern University teaching materials, grants files, and publications.
Mary Ann Weston (1940- ) Papers
LeRoy I. Wetzel (1886-1956) Papers
Choral conductor, organist and composer LeRoy Wetzel was the director of music at the First Methodist Church of Evanston, Illinois and the People’s church of Chicago, among other venues. His papers consist mainly of Wetzel’s original musical compositions and arrangements.
Wilhelm Wexelsen Collection
This collection contains articles and statements collected and organized in 1946 by Wilhelm Wexelsen from Norsk Artikkeltjeneste, the Norwegian News Service which operated during World War II. Material in this collection, which also includes propaganda, originated between 1943 and 1945. The collection includes propaganda materials from the AKI, "Anti-Communism Institute," between 1944 and 1945.
Paddy Whannel (1922-1980) Papers
Atholl Douglas (Paddy) Whannel was a film scholar. He first came to teach at Northwestern University in 1969 and became an associate professor of film in 1972. His papers fill three and one-half boxes and span the years from 1896 to 1980. The papers (spanning the years 1896 to 1980) contain biographical materials, general correspondence, writings, research materials, and course materials.
David Hilton Wheeler (1829-1902) Papers
David Hilton Wheeler (1829-1902) was a professor of English literature at Northwestern University, was elected as a trustee and executive officer of the faculty, and served as Northwestern's de facto acting president from 1868-1869. Wheeler's papers fill one half-sized box, span the years 1869-1966, and consist of biographical information and clippings, writings, and correspondence.
Myrtle Whitney Papers
The Myrtle Whitney Papers consist of the correspondence and personal papers of Northwestern University student Myrtle Viola Whitney. The collection depicts the life of a female Northwestern student in the 1890s.
