Abstract
Richard W. Jones began teaching electrical engineering at Northwestern University in 1942, and became a full professor in 1951, which position he held until his retirement in 1971. His final appoint was jointly in electrical engineering and biological sciences. Jones was a pioneer in the study of biomedical engineering, and his work was instrumental in Northwestern's development of a leading department in the field.
