Aleta Styers was president of the Chicago chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW; founded in 1966 in Washington, D.C.). The material in this collection relates to the formation and early history of the Chicago chapter of NOW as well as the Illinois branch of the organization, between 1966 and 1972.
